REVIEW: YOUR LOVE PRODUCTION BY MR COCKTAIL 1
Starts off
like an old school demo track from the cute lead singer of Evanescence with unaffected
or dry vocals done with the pace of Example's Changed The Way You Kissed Me where
you now that as soon as the vocal ends there will be a beat-drop.
Here
instead of a beatdrop we are treated to acoustic low bass guitar and on one
layer and distorted electric going wild on the other.
The electric guitar riffs
is soft-rock Bon Jovi 90’s or the like the theme song from Melrose Place (you know you watched it). But this
isn’t soft rock.
And when the lead vocalist finishes saying ‘falling down, falling
down,' it goes into an guitar centric break where the blues guitar repeats
itself over, and over where you think at the end of the forth bar it would
maybe raise an octave or go into hyper-drive but instead it goes out like a
whimper to some unexpected industrial like pounding with guitar reversals and
mayhem that leaves the vocals in no mans land.
Here is the track once more: Mr Cocktail - Your Love Production
Instruments:
good choice, unusual arrangements, mix
of genre usage
Ideas:
sparky
Mix-down: a
bit light on the low-end except for the low acoustic bass at the beginning especially
near the end it’s more of a mid-hi range affair.
Do I want
to listen to more cocktail_1 stuff in the immediate future? Sure why not, just
need to clear out some ear wax after so many warbling guitars.
